A preview of recent prints that revolve loosely around our societal systems of beauty and communicating comfort within the home. Enthused by the western landscape, a denominator and archetype of beauty- particularly in art history, I want to expose our classification of this traditionally beautiful place as grotesque and violent. These works are beginning to take the form of ornamental wallpaper- a typical cladding within a domestic environment - creating a scene that once may have been ripe with symbolic meaning, but is now ironically overlooked.
