glass
(2009)
While working with David Wolfe at Penland, I became captured by the medium of glass. Before this, I had almost exclusively been working on paper. I felt the flat surface of sheet glass could provide a similar working experience, but with dramatically different effect. I began with layer sheets of glass that I had etched and inked, and then I moved into to small slumped and molded pieces. There was an extreme shift between the processes; one very controlled the other variable. The outcomes were coupled with monotypes.
